Raw editor

How it works

/schedule runs a function from a data pack later. The delay is in ticks (20 per second) with optional units: t, s for seconds, d for 20-minute in-game days.

Java 1.15 and later

schedule function my_pack:countdown/tick 5s
schedule function my_pack:wave 1d append
schedule clear my_pack:countdown/tick

Scheduling a function that is already waiting replaces it, unless you add append.

Java 1.14

schedule function my_pack:countdown/tick 100

No append, replace or clear yet — a new schedule always replaces the old one.

Bedrock has no /schedule; use a ticking command block or scripting.

FAQ

How do I make a repeating loop with /schedule?

Put a schedule function line for the same function at the end of it: it runs, then schedules itself again. Stop it with schedule clear.

Who runs a scheduled function?

The server, at world spawn. Use execute as @a at @s run … inside the function to act on players.

Why does my delay run too fast?

A bare number is ticks: 20 = 1 second. Write 5s for seconds.

Can I schedule a function tag?

Yes: schedule function #my_pack:tag 10s runs every function in the tag.

Is there /schedule on Bedrock?

No. Bedrock data-driven add-ons use scripting or repeating command blocks instead.
