/effect Command Generator
BetaStack up effects, set their level and how long they last, and see them on the HUD with their timers and particles. The generator writes /effect the way your version reads it, one line per effect.

How it works
Speed II for a minute and permanent night vision without particles, in each format:
Java 1.19.4 and later
effect give @p minecraft:speed 60 1 effect give @p minecraft:night_vision infinite 0 true
The numbers are seconds, then the amplifier (0 is level I, 1 is level II), then whether to hide particles. infinite arrived in 1.19.4; Java 1.13 to 1.19.3 get the longest time allowed instead, 1,000,000 seconds (about 11½ days).
Java 1.8 to 1.12
effect @p 1 60 1 effect @p 16 1000000 0 true
No give word, and the generator writes numeric effect IDs (1 is Speed, 16 is Night Vision), which every old version accepts. Glowing, Levitation, Luck and Bad Luck need 1.9.
Bedrock
effect @p speed 60 1 effect @p night_vision infinite 0 true
infinite and clearing a single effect need Bedrock 1.21.40. Bedrock calls Hero of the Village village_hero and has no Glowing, Luck or Dolphin’s Grace; it does have Fatal Poison.
Clearing effects
effect clear @a minecraft:poison (Java 1.13+) effect @a clear poison (Bedrock 1.21.40+) effect clear @a (everything, Java 1.13+) effect @a clear (everything, Bedrock and Java 1.12 or older)
To pick targets by mob type or radius, use the Build button on the target field or the target selector generator. To put effects on a mob as it spawns, use /summon.
FAQ
How do I give an infinite effect?
Java 1.19.4+ and Bedrock 1.21.40+ accept infinite instead of seconds: effect give @p minecraft:night_vision infinite. Older versions top out at 1,000,000 seconds, which the generator uses when you tick Infinite.
Why is my effect one level higher than I typed?
The command takes an amplifier, which starts at 0. Level I is 0, level II is 1, and so on. The generator lets you type the level and works out the amplifier.
How do I hide effect particles?
Add true after the amplifier: effect give @p minecraft:speed 30 0 true. The amplifier must be written too, even when it is 0.
How do I remove one effect?
Java: effect clear @p minecraft:poison. Bedrock 1.21.40+: effect @p clear poison. Older versions can only clear every effect at once.
Why does /effect give fail on Java 1.12?
The give and clear words came in 1.13. On 1.12 and older it is effect <player> <effect> <seconds> <amplifier> — pick your version and the generator writes that form.
