/weather Command Generator
BetaPick clear, rain or thunder and a duration in real seconds. The generator converts it to what your version expects, and the preview plays the weather with a countdown.
Describe it — AI writes the command

Written as 600s. Java 1.19.4+ takes ticks with units (s = seconds, d = 20-minute days).

How it works
The duration unit changed over the years, which is why pasted commands often do the wrong thing. You type real seconds here and the generator writes the version's unit. Leave it at 0 and the game picks how long the weather lasts.
Java 1.19.4 and later
Ticks, with optional units: s for seconds, d for in-game days (20 minutes), t for ticks.
weather clear 1d weather thunder 600s
Java 1.8 to 1.19.3
weather rain 600
A plain number of seconds. Before Java 1.20.5 the command only works when run from the overworld.
Bedrock
Ticks (20 per second), up to 1,000,000. Bedrock can also tell you the current weather:
weather thunder 12000 weather query
FAQ
How do I turn off rain forever?
Set clear weather and stop the weather cycle: /weather clear, then /gamerule doWeatherCycle false (advance_weather from Java 1.21.11, doweathercycle on Bedrock).
Why did my weather only last a few seconds?
On Java 1.19.4 and later a plain number is ticks, not seconds, so weather rain 600 lasts 30 seconds. Write 600s, or let the generator do it.
How long can weather last?
Bedrock takes up to 1,000,000 ticks (about 13.9 hours). Old Java took up to 1,000,000 seconds; modern Java takes a time value like 10d.
Does /weather work in the Nether?
It changes the overworld's weather. On Java 1.20.5 and later you can run it from any dimension; before that it only worked from the overworld.
How do I check the current weather?
On Bedrock use weather query. Java has no query command; a data pack can test it with a weather check predicate.
