/team Command Generator
BetaSet up teams for PvP, minigames or a server spawn: colour the names, add a [Red] prefix, turn off friendly fire and pushing, and see how name tags look to teammates and enemies.

How it works
The generator writes team add, one team modify line for each option you changed from the game’s default, and a team join line per member.
Java 1.13 to 1.21.4
team add red {"text":"Red Team","color":"red"}
team modify red color red
team modify red prefix {"text":"[Red] ","color":"dark_red","bold":true}
team modify red friendlyFire false
team modify red nametagVisibility hideForOtherTeams
team join red SteveJava 1.21.5 and later (26.x too)
Display names, prefixes and suffixes are written as SNBT:
team modify red prefix {text:"[Red] ",color:"dark_red",bold:true}Java 1.8 to 1.12
Teams lived under /scoreboard teams, options used option instead of modify, and the display name was plain text. There was no command for a prefix or suffix, so the generator leaves those out. collisionRule needs 1.9.
scoreboard teams add red Red Team scoreboard teams option red color red scoreboard teams option red friendlyfire false scoreboard teams join red Steve
Bedrock
Bedrock has no /team command. Use tags (/tag) and scoreboards to group players there.
FAQ
How do I give a team a coloured name?
Use team modify <team> color <colour>. Members' names turn that colour in chat, the tab list and above their heads. Hex colours are not allowed, only the 16 chat colours.
How do I add a [Red] tag before player names?
Use a prefix: team modify <team> prefix {"text":"[Red] "}. Prefixes need Java 1.13 or later. Leave a space at the end so it doesn't touch the name.
How do I hide name tags?
team modify <team> nametagVisibility never hides them for everyone; hideForOtherTeams lets only teammates see them, which is handy for hide-and-seek.
How do I stop players pushing each other?
team modify <team> collisionRule never (Java 1.9+). Put every player on a team with that rule to turn off pushing completely.
Can I add everyone to a team at once?
Yes: team join <team> @a. The generator writes one join line per name or selector you list.
